Aholibamah

Easton's Bible Dictionary

Tent of the height, the name given to Judithh, the daughter of Beeri = Anah (Gen 26:34; 36:2), when she became the wife of Esau. A district among the mountains of Edom, probably near Mount Hor, was called after her name, or it may be that she received her name from the district. From her descended three tribes of Edomites, founded by her three sons.

Oholibamah

o-hol-i-ba'-ma, o-hol-i-ba'-ma ('oholibhamah, "tent of the high place"):

(1) One of Esau's wives, and a daughter of Anah the Hivite (Gen 36:2; Gen 36:5). It is strange that she is not named along with Esau's other wives in either Gen 28:9 or 26:30. Various explanations have been given, but none of them is satisfactory. There is probably some error in the text.

(2) An Edomite chief (Gen 36:41; 1 Chr 1:52).
